Gail Gavan & The Ryan Bros.

Saturday, October 3, 2009
9:00 pm - 1:00 am

It's difficult to place Gail Gavan in any one category.
She's an accomplished writer, singer, raconteur, and schoolteacher. Gail is the former host of  CANADA’S   national  television program “Cottage Country” on CBC; she has travelled to Bosnia entertaining the Peacekeepers; has toured  Ireland 5 times as well as tours and cruises  bringing friends and fans to her favourite spots in  Mexico and the Caribbean.   As a popular entertainer at country fairs and Jamborees across Quebec and Ontario she has opened for the likes of  Tim McGraw, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Tom T. Hall and Charlie Pride.  Gail has a particular passion for the music of the Ottawa Valley ( Irish, French, and  folklore) and with the Celebration of Ottawa’s 150th birthday has recently re-released 3 of her CD’s entitled “For the Love of the Valley -Vol. 1, 2, and 3” which have sold over 15,000 copies!

Eddie & the Stingrays

Ray Harris

Sunday, October 4, 2009
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The long awaited debut CD from an Ottawa country-roots singer/songwriter/guitarist with strong ties to the Pontiac.

"The songs are lived in and that density reverberates in the album's instrumentation...East End, West End, North End, South End is a tight little disc" - Fateema Sayani,Ottawa Citizen

Recorded over the past year in Ottawa and partly in Nashville, the songs are clever, heartfelt and catchy - traditional, yet quirky and current. Ray has been recently featured on CKCU-FM and CHUO-FM and has also been getting airplay as far away as Australia. You may have already heard "Shawville Girl" and "I'd Rather Take The Train" on the Pontiac's own CHIP-FM!
